Out with the old and in with the new they say. I made that decision the other day. Not only am I looking for a closet refresh, a kitchen refresh, and a grooming refresh, but on a smaller scale, an accessory refresh is in order. The accessory in question is my wallet. A tried and true accessory for men that generally should last many years unless misplaced or simply worn down. In my case was my wallet was worn down from years of use, it wasn’t of great quality nor did I know where it was manufactured.

The Slim Dutchman by Lost Dutchman Leather

As I learned more about manufacturing in the United States, I realized many leather goods are produced here. I also learned that not all leather is the same. From top graded full-grain and top-grain to mid and lower grades of genuine leather (corrected-grain), split grain, and bonded leather, you’ll find it all. Add other specialty finishes such as nubuck, suede and patent leather to the mix and it quickly becomes a more difficult decision - and that’s not even considering faux leather, likely a vegan leather built of synthetics.

In my search for a worthy replacement of my tattered and of unknown origin wallet, I reviewed numerous Made in USA leather producers. With Made In USA being the #1 criteria, #2 was quality (aka leather grade), followed by #3 being a minimalist design. I eventually came across a wallet that fit the bill (pun-intended?).

The Slim Dutchman by Lost Dutchman Leather checked all the right boxes. With the Slim Dutchman meeting my criteria, I still peeked at all of Lost Dutchman’s offerings, which are diverse in design and color and would likely meet the need of any man looking for an upgrade.

After deciding upon the Slim Dutchman, I put it on my Christmas list in hopes Santa was listening. To my happy surprise Christmas morning, I unwrapped a gift from my wife and can say I am a proud owner of a wallet handcrafted 100% in the USA by fine folks in Apache Junction, Arizona.

I’ve already populated the pockets with my necessary cards and am hopeful this wallet will last many years. The lost Dutchman stands behind their products, offering a lifetime guarantee - providing repair or free replacement due to any craftsmanship failures.

If you’re in the market for a new wallet, I’d highly recommend Lost Dutchman Leather.
