Founded in 1978 by Cronin Seeley and John Mercer, White Mountain Puzzles is an iconic American puzzle company specializing in vibrant, high-piece-count jigsaw puzzles and nostalgic graphic collages. Headquartered in Jackson, New Hampshire, nestled within the White Mountains region, the family-owned business has spent nearly five decades producing classic entertainment goods designed to bring families together.
Known for collaborating with renowned folk artists, illustrators, and pop-culture archivists, White Mountain Puzzles turns historical ephemera, regional maps, brand heritage, and nostalgic Americana into detailed jigsaw challenges. To maintain strict quality control and support domestic paper mills, the company manufactures its puzzles entirely within the United States.
Core Pillars & Manufacturing Principles
100% Domestic Paper & Board Sourcing: Puzzles are constructed using heavy-duty, 100% recycled blue chipboard sourced from domestic suppliers, paired with premium coated paper stocks for crisp graphic rendering.
Precision Die-Cutting: Printed in the USA, the puzzles utilize custom steel die-cut presses that ensure clean, inter-locking pieces with minimal puzzle dust and high structural rigidity.
Extra-Large Piece Ergonomics: The brand is famous for engineering pieces that are roughly 20% larger than industry standards, making them easier to handle for all ages while preserving complex image detail.
Americana & Heritage Artwork: White Mountain Puzzles curates an extensive archive of original artwork—ranging from retro cereal boxes and vintage travel posters to historic US maps and seasonal countryside landscapes.
By combining domestic paper recycling, precision American manufacturing, and nostalgic artwork, White Mountain Puzzles remains a staple of authentic, USA-made family entertainment.
