Duckworth
Bozeman, Montana 🇺🇸
Headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, Duckworth is the world’s only "Sheep-to-Shelf" Merino wool company, dedicated to producing 100% American-made performance apparel. Founded by fourth-generation rancher John Helle and outdoor industry veteran Robert "Bernie" Bernthal, the company was built to revitalize the American wool industry by proving that the highest quality Merino in the world doesn't come from overseas—it comes from the high-altitude, rugged terrain of the Montana Rockies.
What sets Duckworth apart is its complete vertical supply chain. Every garment begins at the Helle Rambouillet ranch in Dillon, Montana, where a specific breed of sheep is raised in extreme conditions to produce a unique, crimped fiber that is exceptionally soft, durable, and breathable.
The "Sheep-to-Shelf" Advantage
Duckworth maintains total control over every step of the process. From shearing and scouring to spinning, knitting, and sewing, all within the United States.
Proprietary Helle Merino: The extreme Montana climate (ranging from -40°F to 100°F) forces the sheep to grow a versatile fleece that offers natural thermoregulation, moisture management, and odor resistance.
Innovative Base Layers: Their collections, such as the Vapor, Maverick, and Comet series, utilize specialized fabric blends designed for everything from high-output summer activities to sub-zero winter expeditions.
Technological Edge: By combining ancient natural fibers with modern knitting techniques, Duckworth produces gear that is itch-free, quick-drying, and retains its shape through years of hard use in the field.
Sustainability & Traceability: Because the wool never leaves the U.S. during production, Duckworth boasts a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditional wool brands and offers customers 100% transparency regarding the origin of their clothing.
