Founded in 2019 by contractor Dan Raymond, Boss Hammer Co. is an independent tool manufacturer headquartered in Mayville, Michigan (with operations originating in the Saginaw Valley area). Launched after winning Invention of the Year at the inaugural Made in America trade show, the family-owned business set out to modernize traditional framing hammers by combining striking power with built-in job-site measuring and layout tools.
Dissatisfied with standard framing hammers that force carpenters and tradespeople to constantly swap between speed squares, tape measures, and striking tools, Boss Hammer engineered the first line of 100% American-made hammers that can measure, square, and swing in a single motion.

100% Domestic Design & Manufacturing: Every hammer head, handle, and component is designed, engineered, cast, and assembled in Michigan using 100% US-sourced steel, titanium, hickory, and fiberglass.
Patented Layout & Squaring Geometry: Boss hammers feature built-in laser-etched imperial layout markings along the handle and head, allowing carpenters to square a 90° angle, check 45° miter angles, find common rafters cuts, and mark dimensions on the fly without drawing a square.
Titanium & High-Carbon Steel Lineup: The brand manufactures both lightweight titanium-head hammers (which absorb striking shock while delivering steel-equivalent driving force) and traditional high-carbon steel heads for heavy demolition and framing.
Trade-Engineered Striking Features: Heads feature magnetic nail starters, side nail-pullers for tight clearances, non-slip textured or smooth faces, and shock-absorbing handle grips designed to minimize arm fatigue over long shifts.
